3 Partido towns face water lack due to ‘Rolly’

NAGA CITY --- Residents of Caramoan, Presentacion and Lagonoy towns in Partido district of Camarines Sur are facing lack of potable water supply in the aftermath of super typhoon “Rolly.”

In Caramoan town, barangay authorities used power generators to supply water in some villages, while the local government here deliver the water needs of affected residents through water trucks.

The same problem is being faced by the Lagonoy local government as its generator set bogged down, while power supply from the Camarines Sur IV Electric Cooperative (Casureco IV) remains down.

In Presentacion town, residents also suffer from water scarcity as the town’s pumping stations have stopped operation due to the absence of power supply.

Local water district officials are trying to find remedial measures to solve the water problem as the electric cooperative speeds up the repairs of typhoon damaged power lines and electric poles.

Meanwhile, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has already completed the repair of its Naga-Iriga City lines but repair works in other areas are delayed due to flood.

As this developed, presidential daughter Davao City Mayor Sarah Duterte paid a short visit in Camarines Sur to deliver donations to affected residents.

In a press conference on Wednesday, Nov. 4, the mayor said that the donations came from Davaoeños who want to help the typhoon victims in the province.

The Ilocos police regional office also turnover a total of P100,000 worth of relief goods to Bicol police regional office for distribution to typhoon victims.

As of Nov. 4, there are 251,000 families affected by the typhoon in Camarines Sur.
