PNP, MNWD personnel on familiarization tour of Mt. Isarog Natural Park

Imperial NAGA CITY --- Men in uniform, one of the partners of the Metropolitan Naga Water District (MNWD) in protecting and conserving the Mount Isarog Natural Park (MINP) went on a familiarization expedition of the watershed area with some of the district’s personnel. Police Officers from Naga City Police Office (NCPO), Camarines Sur Police Provincial Office (CSPPO), Pili Municipal Police Station (MPS), PNP Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) and 5th Regional Public Safety Batallion (RPSB) inspected the Rumangrap Spring at Barangay Curry, Pili, Camarines Sur and the Kalinisan – Nabuntulan Watershed at upland Barangay Panicuason, this city. The PNP has recently inked a MOA with the MNWD to ensure eco-tourism, environmental awareness and socio-economic development activities for the protection, maintenance, and rehabilitation of the MINP portion situated in Barangay Panicuason, covering more or less 356 hectares. PNP’s participation is to ensure public safety within the eco-tourism area, conduct patrol within the periphery of MNWD’s protected areas, and integrate their programs with the rest of the stakeholders for community development. PInsp. Rommel San Andres, Deputy Chief, PCRB CSPPO said, “visiting the area was very exciting.” He added that it is important to develop public awareness in the issues concerning the preservation of the MINP. Other police officers present during the site inspection were: PSupt Erwin Doma, Company Commander of the Naga City Public Safety Company; SPO4 Leonardo Jarabeo, Police Deputy of Police Station No. 4 in Cararayan, Naga City; PInsp Bienvenido Enciso, Deputy Chief of the POPB, PNP Provincial Command, and their staff.
