MNWD launches water lorry, rescue boat
CAMALIGAN, Camarines Sur --- The MNWD water lorry and rescue boat of the Metro Naga Water District (MNWD) that were formally launched last October 30 at the Camaligan River Park here will deliver potable water to the riverside barangay residents of the towns of Camaligan, Canaman, Gainza, Magarao, and even Pamplona, all in Camarines Sur. Present during the launching were MNWD Acting General Manager Virginia I. Nero, MNWD Directors Monina Lily A. Claveria, Marilissa J. Ampuan, Adolfo L. Olivan, and Board Chairman Jorge T. Palma; Vice Mayor Rolando C. Eduardo of Camaligan, Mayor Augustus Caesar M. Cruz III of Pamplona, Gabriel Lazaro Jimenez, President of MPCF Board of Trustees, Municipal Councilors & Barangay Captains of the municipality of Pamplona, Canaman, and Camaligan; PNP Maritime Group, DENR-PENRO, EMB5-PEMU, LGU Naga-CEPPIO, MPCF Band and Majorettes, Philippine Information Agency, Media partners, and MNWD personnel. Acting General Manager Virginia I. Nero acknowledged the presence of LGU executives, guests, stakeholders, and partners. She stated that the MNWD water lorry and rescue boat have been conceptualized way back in 2014 and that the realization of the project will benefit all the riverside barangays. Engr. Virgilio B. Luansing I gave an overview of the project. He emphasized that the water lorry will not only deliver potable water to riverside communities but will also be utilized in rescue operations during times of disaster. Vice Mayor Rolando C. Eduardo of Camaligan, Mayor Augustus Caesar M. Cruz III of Pamplona, and Dr. Gabriel Lazaro Jimenez - President of MPCF Board of Trustees, extended their appreciation and support to MNWD in realizing its mission of providing fast and suitable water services within its service coverage area. MNWD Chairman Jorge T. Palma shared his message on the importance of the maintenance and protection of Mount Isarog Natural Park (MINP), the main source of water for the residents around it. He encouraged everyone to be part of the MNWD’s advocacies especially in creating awareness with regards to conserving the MINP. Rev. Fr. Abundio Q. Nopre Jr., Parish priest of St. Anthony of Padua, Camaligan, Camarines Sur, invoked divine protection and aid for the continuous operation of the water lorry and rescue boat. He also expressed his gratitude to the MNWD for conceptualizing such beneficial project for the betterment of its consumers.
