NAGA CITY --- A 51-year-old woman stabbed her brother dead after they argued over a disputed family property in Barangay San Felipe of this city at 10:00 p.m. Sunday, the police reported Monday.

SPO2 Tobias Bongon, spokesperson of Naga City Police Office (NCPO), said that at past 9:00 p.m. on Jan. 21, Jocelyn Dado-Batasan and brother Manuel Dado, 54, were arguing about the family property when the latter grabbed the hair of his sister and tried to drag her outside of his house.

Apparently, Dado-Batasan, who now lives with her family in Leyte, came to visit her brother to talk about the property their parents left them.

Dado-Batasan, said in an interview at the NCPO jail, that when Dado grabbed her hair she almost stumbled so she warned his brother to stop it or she will stab him with the knife she got from a table.

She said her older brother ignored her warning which prompted her to stab and fatally hit him in the back.

Bongon said it took almost one hour to bring the injured Dado to hospital because the place where the incident happened is remote and located inside a maze of alleys and clustered houses.

He said Dado was declared dead on arrival by the doctor at the Naga City Hospital at about 1:00 a.m. of the next day, Monday.
