Included in the city summer sports program are the Summer Sports Camp which kicked- off last April 14 (now on its 14th year) for children of ages 5 to 15 years old and the Inter- Barangay Sports Fest for the youth which started May 1.
Along with improving the sports skills of the athletes, the programs aim to keep the interest and engagement of the children and the youth in sports, as part of the One Student, One Sports program of the city.
Among the sports games included in the training programs are Athletics, Aikido, Archery, Arnis, Badminton, Basketball, Baseball, Football, Chess, Futsal, Lawn Tennis, Gymnastics, Judo, Softball, Table Tennis, Swimming, Wushu, Volleyball, Taekwondo, Sepak Takraw and Muay Thai.
In line with the conduct of the games, the ESSO plans to introduce and integrate the Basic Life Support and First Aid Skills Training in the city sports programs as physical injuries and other sports accidents are common in the field.
