P880K worth of shabu seized in Albay town; 2 suspects now detained
By Celso Amo LEGAZPI CITY --- Anti-illegal drug operatives led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency nabbed two suspected drug pushers from this city Friday (Aug. 17) morning who were to deliver illegal drugs in the island town of Rapu-Rapu in Albay province. Coton Talento, Bicol-PDEA spokesperson, has identified the suspects as Ariel Barcelon, 38 and Bernardo Dayto, 48, both residents of Barangay San Roque in Legazpi City. They were on board a motorized banca at the Sula Channel in Bacacay, Albay when they were apprehended based on a warrant of arrest at about 10:30 a.m. last Friday. Six sachets of shabu weighing 130 grams worth P880,000 were recovered, including drug paraphernelia from the suspects. “Our agents received a tiff off on the delivery of illegal drugs,” said Talento. Dayto was able to escape from an illegal drug operation conducted earlier by the police. The two suspects are now at the PDEA detention center inside Camp General Ola in this city.
