NAGA CITY --- This multi-awarded city which recently landed first in the Economic Dynamism category in the competitiveness ranking among other component cities in the country will soon be home to thousands of digital key influencers and stakeholders of ICT Development comes November this year.

2018 National ICT Confederation of the Philippines (NICP) Summit Chair Efren Daniel De Leon, who vigorously pushed for the holding of the 10th NICP Information Communication Technology (ICT) in Naga City said that the confab will serve as an avenue to advance digital research and create an innovative ecosystem and disruptive technologies in the field of ICT, among others.

“Naga City is the perfect place for this gathering as we have a lot of competent digital geniuses who have already showcased a lot of innovation in terms of ICT. We will be inviting heads of Local Government Units (LGUs), members of the academe, and representatives from the various private and public sector, including  entrepreneurs and professionals,” De Leon said in an interview.

The summit will target some 800 to 1,000 participants coming from the various sectors all over the country this coming November 22 to 24 thru the effort of the ICT Council Bicol@Bicol/Metro Naga in partnership with the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) and the City Government of Naga.

This year’s theme: “A decade of Inclusive Countryside Development: Managing Digital Transformation Driven by Disruptive Technologies,” will showcase NICP’s 10 years of being a champion for ICT Countryside Development.

The gathering will showcase all available opportunities and regular employment in ICT, capacitate ICT councils and stakeholders, introduce new ICT applications, systems and programs, create a working synergy for all stakeholders in ICT development and collaborate with the private and public agencies and other institutions that could help maximize job placements.

De Leon noted that it will also be significant to  know the best practices of other ICT councils, then replicate them with the help of local, national and international partners.

“We will be inviting speakers who will share with us their innovations and hopefully, recognize the need to showcase best practices in terms of e-governance. We also hope to hear their strategic thrusts in the upcoming decades,” De Leon added.
