Retired teacher, companion bumped dead

SIPOCOT, Camarines Sur --- Appropriate charges are being readied against one Rommel Peraja Ferme, 21, of this town after he hit two elderly pedestrians along the national highway here in the afternoon of Tuesday, September 18,who were both pronounced dead on arrival.

Ferme, while on board a motorcycle along the Maharlika Highway in Bgy.North Villazar, this town, when he bumped into pedestrians Felicisima Alday y Ambat,72, and Evelyn Abaquita y Panganiban, 52, who were both residents of Bgy. North Villazar, this town, the Sipocot Municipal Police Station reported.

Felicisima was a retired teacher, the report said. She and Evelyn were walking on the side if the highway when motorcycle-riding Ferme bumped them from behind.

The report said the youthful driver who was also injured in the incident was reeking with alcohol when the police held him for investigation shortly after the incident happened. His motorcycle bore no plate number, the police report also said.
