Camsur PESO brings over 2,500 job opportunities

The Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of the Provincial Government of Camarines Sur, in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and Local Government Unit of Bato, conducted a one-day job and business fair last February 11, 2019 at LRV Gymnasium, Bato, Camarines Sur. The “Trabaho, Negosyo at Kabuhayan, Job and Business Fair” was participated in by 17 local and overseas companies, providing a total of over 2,500 local and overseas job opportunities to residents of Bato and nearby towns.

Camsur PESO and DOLE brought local and overseas employment and business opportunities closer to Camarinenses through the implementation of the program, which aims to localize the joband livelihood fair programs, realize the agenda of bringing employment and entrepreneurship at the grassroots levelto address the unemployment and underemployment issues in the province, and to address person’s skill requirement. Under the said program, community-based and school-based job and business fairs, trainings and workshops on employment and livelihood, are being conducted. Government agencies such as DOLE, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), PAG-IBIG Fund, Philippine Statistic Authority (PSA), Social Security System (SSS), PhilHealth, and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), were also invited to the said event for a one-stop shop caravan that extends convenientaccess to their services. This provides the residents the opportunity to bewell-oriented by each agency on the programs and services they offer. Job seekers submitted their updated resumes andmost went through series of interviews to qualify for the position they aspire in different companies. “This is more convenient for me because I have been applying for several jobs online but still have no reply from companies and employers. It is really easier when companies are the ones that will come to you since most of the job seekers prefer to work within the province,” shared Ivy Argarin, a fresh graduate with degree in Civil Engineering who applied in one of the companies and had her initial job interview. “I hope that they will continue this program because it makes it easier to apply and look for a job. I am grateful to the provincial government and the companies who are present, for coming here in our town to bring employment opportunities,” she added. This program alsoprovided a venue for immediate matching of jobs and people in order to minimize transportation and other expenses by applicants who travel to Manila or other areas where vacancies are available. Another Overseas Job Fair will also be conducted on February 20 & 21, 2018 at Capitol Convention Center, Cadlan, Pili, Camarines. More overseas job opportunities f0r Factory Workers, Skilled Workers, Teachers, Nurses, Engineers and Professionals awaits in New Zealand, Japan, Middle East, Taiwan, UK, Germany, Saudi Arabia and China. The “Trabaho, Negosyo at Kabuhayan, Job and Business Fair” Program is one of the livelihood programs being implemented by Camsur PESO, dedicated in uplifting lives of the Camarinenses and help the national government in attaining the socio-economic agenda for the Filipino people.
