On February 28, 2019, the incorrupt heart relic of St. Camillus de Lellis will be brought to the Archdiocese of Caceres and will be stationed at the Metropolitan Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. The Cathedral will be open for the veneration of the relic. There will be a procession from the Chapel of the Sacraments (Cathedral Area) to the Cathedral Church at 7:30 AM, and will be followed by a welcome Mass to be presided over by the Parish Priest, Rev. Msgr. Noe P. Badiola, at 8:00 AM. A series of Eucharistic Celebrations will be held with a Catechesis session before each Mass.

The relic was brought to the Philippines last February 2, 2019 and will be brought to several places and parishes in the country until the 31st of March. St. Camillus de Lellis was known for his ministry for the sick during his time. He established a congregation named the Camillians (Ministers of the Sick) around the 16th century. The congregation administered to the ill-fated people and even founded some hospital facilities in Italy. He died on July 14, 1607 and was canonized by Pope Leo XIII in 1746, and was declared as the patron of the sick alongside St. John of God. He is also made patron of nurses and nursing groups by Pope Pius XI. His feast is celebrated on July 18.
