Comelec proclaims Fortuno, Villafuerte, Bordado





PILI, Camarines Sur --- Camarines Sur Commission on Elections Provincial Election Supervisor Atty. Alberto Cañares III has raised the hands of winning congressional candidates in the three of the five legislative districts here following the conclusion of the midterm elections for local and national here last Monday, May 13.

At noon yesterday, May 15, incumbent 3rd District Congressman Gabriel Bordado was officially proclaimed as poll winner in his district by Chairman Cañares, as witnessed by Prosecutor Richard T. Cu, Vice Chairman, and DepEd Supervisor Dr. Cecille Bernadette Rivera, member-secretary.

In the 5th congressional district, Jocelyn Fortuno, a former public school teacher, was proclaimed as the newly-elected representative with her husband, incumbent 5th District Congressman Salvio Fortuno (Photo courtesy of Ramil Don Belmote Hugo) witnessing her official proclamation.

Last Tuesday, May 14, re-elected Camarines Sur 2nd District Congressman LRay Villafuerte became the first winning congressman to be proclaimed by Comelec.

As of this reporting period, Camarinenses are still awaiting for the proclamation of the winner in the gubernatorial race as the Comelec anticipates the transmission of the remaining votes from the municipalities of Cabusao, Bombon, San Jose, Tigaon, Garchitorena, Siruma and Baao.

The Secure Digital (SD) cards used in the Vote Counting Machines (VCMs) coming from the aforementioned municipalities was still to be reconfigured at the regional technical hub after it was rendered defective by the Board of Election Inspectors.
