NAGA CITY — Caceres Archbishop Rolando J. Tria Tirona, OCD, DD led the celebration of the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ in this City on Sunday, June 23, 2019.

The celebration was highlighted by a traditional Eucharistic Procession with the Archbishop which started at around 2:30 pm from the San Francisco Parish to the Naga Metropolitan Cathedral. The procession was preceeded by an Invocation led by Rev. Fr. Fidel Mamerto Bagauyaua, Parish Priest of San Francisco. Capping off the celebration was a Eucharistic Celebration at the Cathedral led by the Archbishop immediately after the procession at around 3:30 pm.

The Solemnity originated in France in the midthirteenth century, and was extended to the whole Church by Pope Urban IV in 1264. Popularly known as Corpus Christi, it calls us to focus on two manifestations of the Body of Christ, the Holy Eucharist and the Church.
