Kabulig Bikol Inc., in partnership with LJ Graphics Literacy Exponent, Inc., congratulate ANTHONY B. DIAZ, recipient of the 2019 Kabulig First Book Grant. His novella, tentatively entitled “Ika,” explores the mystery of Antonette’s identity in a society that labels persons with emotional and mental challenges. His work, while undeniably heavy, will jolt hearts and minds and open for us a world seldom explored by Bikol writers.
Anthony B. Diaz is a Bikolnon writer from Camaligan, Camarines Sur. He is a fellow of the 3rd Saringsing Writers Workshop and the 1st TALA Poetry Workshop. He writes poetry and flash fiction and has printed limited copies of his work through Better Living through Xeroxography (BLTX).
The Kabulig First Book Grant is an annual award for publishing a Bikol writer’s first creative work written in one of the Bikol languages, excluding chapbooks, DIY, and xeroxography.
