Barbosa, veteran newsman passes away

NAGA CITY --- Engelberto S. Barbosa, fondly called by his friends as “Enting,” has peacefully passed away at a hospital here last Monday, September 2, due to a lingering disease.

A requiem mass will be held on Saturday, September 7, at 1:00 o’clock in the afternoon at the Basilica Minore de Señora de Peñafrancia. This will be followed by internment at Sto. Niño Memorial Park in Barangay Balatas, Naga City.

Enting was born on December 23, 1960. He studied at Ateneo de Naga University and the University of Nueva Caceres. He published the Bicol Free Press in early 90s after having served as editor-in-chief of a number of local newspapers in the Bicol Region that include Catanduanes Tribune, Handiong, and Balalong He is survived by his wife, Nimfa, and their 5 children, Xavier Loy, Rachiel Angela, John Andrew, Marion Joyce, and Caleb Angelo.
