Former BJMP man nabbed for selling suspected shabu

LEGAZPI CITY --- A former employee of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) was caught red-handed on Monday afternoon selling suspected shabu by police anti-narcotics operatives during an anti-drug operation in a coastal village here.

Police Capt. Dexter Panganiban, Albay police spokesman, identified the suspect as Reynante Dayto, 45, married and resident of Barangay Pigcale, this city.

Dayto was nabbed while in the act of handing a sachet of shabu to an undercover police operative in the same village at around 1:30 p.m.

Seized from Dayto’s possession were an undetermined amount of shabu and several fake bills.

Panganiban said Dayto was formerly a BJMP member that went on AWOL (Absence without Leave) in 2015 and has since been considered as a Number 10 High Value Target (HVT) operating in the city.

Aside from facing illegal drug charges, Dayto will also be booked for possession of false Treasury or Bank Notes.
