SSS, PNP apprehend delinquent employer

NAGA CITY, --- The Social Security System (SSS) in collaboration with the Philippine National Police (PNP) nabs another business owner of a non-compliant establishment during the SSS version of Oplan Tokhang on October 22, 2019.

SSS and PNP has served a warrant of arrest to Milagros Musca, owner of Meal Box Tapsihan located at Dimasalang Street, Sta. Cruz, Naga City due to violation of Republic Act 8282, as amended and modified by R.A. 11199 or the Social Security Act of 2018.

SSS Acting Vice President for Operations Legal Services I and II Atty. Renato Jacinto Cuisia said that Musca failed to register her business and report her employees to the SSS.

“We want the public to know that SSS is serious in its campaign to go after erring employers. As one of our most significant projects aside from Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE), we have to ensure that social security protection is provided to all workers from the private sector thru employers’ strict compliance to the Social Security Law,” added Cuisia.

The SSS-PNP team, however, failed to serve warrants of arrest to three other accused-business owners identified as: Celso Garcia of Pro-Lites Electronics Sales and Services, Washington D. Botigan of Earlven & Lao Fashion House, and Jansen Ryel H. Del Barrio of Kakanon Bikol and Resto Bar. The PNP will continue its manhunt against these individuals through the conduct of post operations nationwide.

“We are calling out to the public, especially to the affected employees, to inform the nearest police station or SSS branch of any information that would lead us to the whereabouts of these delinquent employers. We will pursue these cases until they face trials before the court so that the employees will receive the SSS benefits due to them,” said Cuisia.

The Oplan Tokhang in Camarines Sur is the 14th operation of the SSS-PNP. Previous operations were already conducted in Laguna, Makati, Quezon City, Iloilo, Isabela, Alabang, Manila, Malabon, Taguig, Bacolod, and Cagayan de Oro wherein 16 employers were successfully arrested.
