CamSur board members decry not being given copy of budget
PILI, Camarines Sur--- Camarines Sur board member Emmanuel Llaguno has denounced Alexander James D. Jaucian, chairman of the committee on finance of the Sanggunian Panlalawigan (SP) of Camarines Sur for not providing him and his fellow oppositionists copies of the proposed P3.6 billion budget of the province for 2020 during the budget presentation.
Llaguno hit the lack of printed copies of the 2020 proposed annual budget of the province during the 23rd SP Regular Session held on Dec. 18 saying that maybe the finance committee was hiding something suspicious in the budget.
He said they (the opposition) must be given hard copies of the proposed budget so that they can study and review it.
For his part, board member Ruperto A. Alfelor of the Rinconada area also questioned Jaucian’s motive for not giving him a printed copy of the budget, while board member Gerald F. Pilapil of Partido district jokingly told the members of the provincial board that he will donate a xerox machine so that all members will be provided hard copies of the budget in the future.
Despite the issues raised by the members of the opposition in the SP, the proposed P3.6 billion budget of Camarines Sur for 2020 was passed and approved by a vote of 9 in favor and 3 against.
Those who voted in favor of the budget were board members Emmanuel H. Noble and Wilfredo Julio B. Oliva of the Rinconada district; Romulo O. Hernandez and Jaucian of the 2nd district; Nelson B. Julia and Angel G. Naval of the 3rd district; Philippine Councilors League Camarines Sur Chapter President Jorge Bengua; Liga ng mga Barangay Camarines Sur President Nellie P. Largo; and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Camarines Sur Federation President Russel F. Pala.
Those who voted against the budget were Llaguno, Alfelor and Pilapil.
