An orientation of the beneficiaries of the shelter assistance coming from the Vicariate of Our Lady of Perpetual Help was recently conducted by the Caritas Manila thru Caritas Caceres.
The vicariate through its vicar forane, Fr Charlie Audal, is assisting some 50 beneficiaries whose houses were damaged by Typhoon Tisoy last month. They will be given Shelter Assistance worth P5K each as grant from Caritas Manila
Appeal for Donations for Taal Victims
Meantime, Fr. Marc Real, head of Caritas Caceres made an appeal to the Caceres Clergy. He enjoined all priests to immediatelly send all donations to the Oeconomus. Last Sunday a second collection in all masses were held for Taal victims. The said collections will support d Relief Operations of the Social Action Centers of the Arch/dioceses of Lipa & Imus.
Among the needed goods are the following:
Rice, water, non-perishable food, medicines, hygiene kits( soap, toothbrush/paste, sanitary napkins) slippers, toys, sleeping mats & blankets.
Drop off centers: Archbishops Residence, Naga Cathedral, Peñafrancia Parish, San Francisco, Goa, Baao, Caritas-Caceres.
Fr Marc also said the following items are discouraged as relief goods: instant noodles (unhealthy); used clothing (dakulon na); bottled water (single use plastic bottles are not environment-friendly; gallons, 5-liter containers are ok. Cccom news
