Naga accepts applicants for city youth officials

NAGA CITY --- The Naga City government’s Youth Governance Internship Program, popularly known as the City Youth Officials (CYOs) program, is now accepting applications from members of the youth sector who wish to be a CYO alongside their counterpart mayor, vice mayor, city councilors, department heads and chiefs of offices.

A CYO aspirant should be at least 15 to 24 years old. Applicants who are within the 18 to 24-year-old bracket are required to present an SK or voter’s ID upon submission of application forms, while those in the 15 to 17-year-old group must present a certification from the Commission on Elections showing that their parents are registered voters in the city.

They should also submit a duly accomplished biodata with recent 2x2 photo (with white background), certificate of good moral character from school and barangay clearance.

Ex-Officio city councilor Kylie Tripulca, chairperson of the Committee on Youth and Sports Development in the Sangguniang Panlungsod and SK federation president, said the application for CYO has started Jan. 31 and will end on March 20 this year.

She said that her office is expecting more than 300 applicants since there are already more than 200 who have applied as of this writing.

Interested applicants may get their application forms at barangay halls, public and private secondary schools, office of the SK federation, and at the office of the National Youth Commission.

Venue of the written exams that will be held on March 29, this year is the Naga City Science High School. The Top 48 successful examinees, who are qualified to undergo oral exams, will be announced on April 5 this year.
