2,000 slots now open for mobile passport services in CamSur

March 6, 2020

The Provincial Government of Camarines Sur, through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and in partnership with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), brings back the “Passport on Wheels” to provide faster processing and convenience in availing DFA’s passport services. Due to the growing demand of provincial constituents for efficient passport processing, DFA allotted 2,000 available slots for a 2-day mobile passport service which will be on May 13-14,2020 at Sangguniang Panlalawigan Session Hall, from 8am to 4pm.

Camsur PESO already started conducting a pre-registration and screening of submitted documents for availing of mobile passport services starting February 26, 2020 until April 17, 2020. The Pre-registration of applicants will determine the number of applicants to be processed on the scheduled passport processing dates, as DFA will be strictly implementingthe no-walk-in applicant policy.

CamSur PESO coordinated with DFA for the schedule of mobile passport service. Moreover, as coordinators, they will be collecting all the submitted copies of application forms attached with the requirements of interested applicants and encode their information on the portal. The applicants will be receiving the payment reference and instruction in their email. Furthermore, confirmation of passport appointment will be received once the applicant settled the expedite processing fee of P1,200.00 at assigned payment centers.

Each applicant who pre-registered will be screened for verification and checked against the master list by the passport coordinators to screen if the applicants brought all of thenecessary requirements which include: (1) checklist and process guide; (2) applications form; (3) two copies of eReceipts; and (4) complete and correct photocopies of supporting documents. Verifiers will be checking the appointment status of each application. Once verified, the applicant canproceed to the next step which is processing,to present his/her application form and all his/her documents to the DFA processor and evaluator. After processing, the applicant can proceed to the courier and surrender the eReceipt (Applicant’s copy) of payment to pay for the courier service of P150.00 to the applicant’s chosen address. The final step will be Data Capturing/ Encoding, where the applicant will be presenting his/her documents and eReceipt (DFA’s copy) to the MPS encoders. The MPS encoder will scan the applicant’s reference number (ARN) to generate applicant’s personal information, take the applicant’s photo and biometrics. All application forms and documents will be surrendered to the encoder as part of DFA’s passport records. The release of passports will be 3 weeks or 15 working days from the date of processing.

Since the launching of this program, DFA was able to extend its capacity in serving and accommodating more passport applicants in different provinces through coordination with local government units to bring the mobile passport services, “Passport on Wheels”, which is aimed to help reduce the issues in passport processing and to assist those who cannot go online to schedule their appointments for application.  Last year, over 1,200 passport applicants from Camarines Sur benefitted from the mobile passport services.
