Travelers from MManila asked to fill out disembarkation cards

NAGA CITY —Travelers and returning Bicol residents who will arrive from Metro Manila must submit a ‘disembarkation card’ upon entry through the Bicol Central Station (BCS), the city mayor here said Friday, Mar. 13.

On Thursday (Mar. 12) night, President Rodrigo Duterte raised Code Red Sub Level 2 over the country and announced a “community quarantine” in Metro Manila due to coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), raising concerns that the provinces will experience a surge of travelers from Metro Manila.

The disembarkation cards are given to arriving passengers at the BCS. The passengers are required to accomplish the card and give it to a guard at the station’s exit.

“Since BCS serves as the main entry point of the city, we will put in place a one entry, one exit police. All those disembarking at the terminal must submit a disembarkation card,” Legacion said during a live streamed message on social media on Friday (Mar. 13) at 6 PM.

He said that travelers from Metro Manila must submit themselves to a mandatory 14-day quarantine starting on the day of their arrival. He also said that those defying the quarantine period will be arrested and charged for violation of Republic Act No. 11332, or the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act.

As of 5 PM Tuesday (Mar. 17), the Department of Health was monitoring a person under investigation (PUI) in Camarines Sur. A PUI is someone who is showing signs for Covid-19 and a history of travel to an area with confirmed cases of transmission of the coronavirus or with a history of contact with a patient who tested positive for Covid-19.
