Escudero to impose curfew in Sorsogon
The Sorsogon provincial government has imposed a 24-hour curfew for minors aged 15 and below, effectively banning youngsters from going out of their houses and roaming around the streets and public places in the province.
Gov. Francis “Chiz” Escudero signed on Monday, Mar. 23 the ordinance placing the entire province on a 24-hours curfew against minors in line with the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in a bid to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the country.
Under the ordinance, any minor who violates the curfew hour would be escorted home and his/her parents and guardians who are found to be negligent and remiss of their parental duties to enforce home quarantine to their children would face reprimand. The curfew violation will be reported to the schools where the minor will be required to perform community service.
Escudero ordered the Philippine National Police (PNP), Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, and the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) to implement the ordinance.
