Rapu-Rapu mayor gives away tilapia, bangus

LEGAZPI CITY --- Hundreds of kilos of tilapia and bangus have been distributed for free to residents of the island town of Rapu-Rapu affected by the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

Rapu-Rapu Mayor Ronald “Boy” A. Galicia led the harvest of tilapia and bangus from his own fishponds and distributed them house-to-house to his constituents according to the Facebook (FB) post of netizen Ryte Niraga.

“Shout out po sa mayor ng Rapu Rapu, Albay. Pina harvest niya ang kanyang fish pond na puno ng Tilapia at Bangus at eto ay libreng ipinamigay sa mga tao doon. Sobrang malaking tulong eto sa mga residente lalo at naka lockdown ngayon ang isla,” Nigara said.

“Good Job po Mayor Boy A. Galicia. Keep it up and more power!” she said in her post.

Nigara lauded Galicia’s action as residents received the tilapia ang bangus on Sunday, Mar. 29 as a form of relief assistance aside from the usual rice with canned goods and noodles.

Another facebook post from Ys Sha Banaynal Balbin also lauded Galicia’s effort for taking care of his constituents.

‘Nakaka-proud ka poh Mayor Boy A. Galicia. Saludo poh aq sa pagpadaba asin pagdamay mo sa mga tawo kan satung lugar. More more more blessings to come,” she said.

“We’re proud of you Mayor Boy A. Galicia. Salute for your care and support to the people of our place. More blessings to come,” she said.

While BhOng Discaya Ebrada also posted on his facebook wall “Libreng Tilapya asin Bangus. Hali sa satuyang maboot na Mayor.”

Galicia is a retired policeman turned politician and in his second term as mayor of Rapu-Rapu Island town. Earlier, Galicia and his son were seen distributing rice ration through house-to-house scheme.
