Tabaco LGU provides free ride to workers, residents

TABACO CITY --- In an effort to ease the burden of the workers due to the absence of public transportation, the city government here has deployed two shuttle buses starting this month to provide free ride to residents on their way to their works.

Mayor Krisel Lagman-Luistro said that they provided two buses for workers heading to Legazpi City and vice-versa beginning Monday, May 18.

Luistro said the shuttle buses depart the city at 6:45 AM and 9:00 AM to Legazpi City and return to Tabaco City at 5:30 PM.

“We started with two units on Monday and we will increase the buses to five depending on the needs, while there is no special permit given to PUVs,” Luistro said.

Luistro said they are giving priority to workers who are working in Legazpi City.

She said that even if public utility vehicles start operating, the shuttle buses will continue to serve the workers and residents who are going to Legazpi.

“Within this week their might be a public transport. My estimate is public transport will resume operation by Wednesday or Thursday,” she said.
