VIRAC, Catanuanes --- The provincial government of Catanduanes has issued new guidelines and measures in processing and issuing letters of exemption (LOE) to departing authorized persons outside residence (APOR).
Paolo Araojo, provincial information officer, said Gov. Joseph Cua has issued a memorandum to prevent abuse in the issuance of such documents as part of the province's efforts to prevent further spread of coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
“Under Memorandum No. 127 s. 2020, only APOR defined by the Inter-Agency Task Force shall be qualified to apply for LOE,” he said.
Araojo said that as part of the protocol, APOR who will apply for LOE shall present a medical clearance certificate and valid identification card from the company he or she is working for.
No application of LOE shall be entertained unless the applicant personally appears before the designated processors.
No LOE shall also be issued within 14 days after the issuance of the most recent LOE.
Araojo said that LOE for round-trip travel needs prior clearance of the governor.
An LOE is intended for APOR who fail to secure a travel order from his company and who intends to travel outside the island province. (PNA)
