Catanduanes town dad nabbed for illegal drugs

A town councilor of Caramoran, Catanduanes was apprehended for illegal drugs by the joint forces of Philippine Drug enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Philippine National Police (PNP) at dawn on Tuesday, Aug. 4.

Police Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, PNP Bicol spokesperson, identified the town councilor as Zaldy F. Idanan, 57, of Supang village, Caramoran town.

The suspect was apprehended at about 5:45 AM on Aug. 4, 2020 by the joint elements of PDEA Catanduanes, PDEA Camarines Norte, Catanduanes provincial police including Virac and Caramoran municipal police personnel through the search warrant issued by Judge Genie Gapas-Agbada.

Idanan is included in police provincial office recalibrated priority database on illegal drugs.

Calubaquib said that the town councilor is a high value individual and is in the national watchlist on illegal drugs. Confiscated during the operation was 15 grams more or less of suspected shabu.

The arrested suspect was brought to Caramoran Municipal Police Station while the confiscated evidence is under the custody of PDEA Catanduanes for proper disposition, while appropriate complaint is now being prepared against the suspect.
