Legazpi hospital, office closed due to Covid-19

The Legazpi City Hospital and City Engineering Office here have been placed under lockdown to give way to contact tracing after an employee in each offices tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).


In an advisory issued on social media on Sunday (Sept. 13) night, Mayor Noel Rosal said the lockdown will be imposed initially for three days.

“Three days initially.. will see if it has to be extended. We have to make sure while contact tracing is being done,” Rosal said in his Facebook post.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 patients here is now 245, although active cases are pegged at only 48.

The number of recoveries is 184, while the death tally is 13.

Meanwhile, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) Bicol regional office also announced temporary closure of its premises due to a suspected Covid-19 case among its employees.

“The LTO-5 regional office will be temporarily closed from Sept. 14 to 16. It will undergo a thorough disinfection,” the agency’s advisory said. (PNA)
