Naga, 2 landowners ink donation for bypass road
The Naga City government has formally signed on Monday, Oct. 12, the deeds of donation with two landowners for some 9,872 square meters of land on which a portion of the Almeda-Mabolo bypass road will be constructed.
In his statement after the flag-raising ceremony held at the City Hall grounds, Mayor Nelson Legacion said that with the land donation, the planned construction of a multimillion-peso four-lane road with bike lane and tree line will be finally realized.

Legacion, along with other city officials, thanked the two families that donated the land. They were represented by Gene Jaucian and Antonio Martinez. The Jaucians donated 4,497 sq. meters of land while the Martinezes gave 5,375 sq. meters in favor of the city government.
It was stated in the deeds of donation that the donors decided to transfer and convey, by way of donation, the aforementioned properties because of their generosity and desire to help the LGU pursue its development agenda for the city.
On its part, the city government has manifested its plan to utilize the donated properties for “road-right-of-way purposes, construction of drainages, tree lines, and other utilities relative to public accessibility and transportation.”
Other terms and conditions stated in the document: “The donee shall not change, alter, or modify the use of the property or a portion thereof for a purpose other for which it was donated. The donee further agrees that the property or any portion thereof shall not be sold or transferred for valuable consideration to any third person;
The donee further states that this donation is not made with the object of defrauding its creditors, having reserved to itself sufficient property to answer for its debts contracted prior to this date.”
The scheduled earthmoving ceremony on Wednesday, Oct. 14 for the Almeda-Mabolo Bypass Road was reset to another date due to bad weather.
Once completed, the bypass road will provide the city with a wider road facility that will help solve traffic congestions, especially along Roxas Boulevard (former diversion road) and Almeda Highway.
The road to be constructed is expected to help spur the development of a new central business district in the city’s western part.
