345 students to undergo career coaching seminar

THE Metro Naga Public Employment Service Office (Metro PESO) of the City Government of Naga is set to conduct a career coaching activity tomorrow, June 2, with the 345 students who made it in the list of beneficiaries of the Summer Employment for Enrollment (SEFE) program this year.
The program allows student-beneficiaries to earn money for their next enrollment by working as provisional government workers at the LGU or in any other government offices for 20 days while on summer break.
In an interview, Metro PESO Acting Manager Roderick Reforsado told the Bicol Mail that the activity, which will be held tomorrow from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the PSO Training Hall, will guide participants in choosing the courses they wish to pursue.
He said that those who haven’t choose yet their college courses will find no problem about the matter as the Metro PESO is more than willing to guide them to know the jobs that are in demand five to 10 years from now based on the data provided by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
Reforsado said that the activity will guide the beneficiaries in tracking their future careers based on their skills and interests.
He added that the activity will help them to avoid job mismatch and endless course or job shifting.
Out of 431 students who wish to benefit from the program, only 345 of them were able to qualify. He said these beneficiaries will start to report for work on June 13, this year, at the local and national government offices. They will be paid P300/day.
Reforsado advised the student-beneficiaries to spend their money for their enrolment next school year. He even warned them that they will face disqualification from joining again the program should they failed to enroll next school year.
