JCI nagueña and Naga’s Kaunlarun 2023: Uniting for advocacy and social change
Runners ignite passion for positive transformation in JCI week celebration

Naga City, Camarines Sur - The spirit of volunteerism and social change took center stage as Junior Chamber International (JCI) Nagueña and Naga proudly presented the inaugural “KaunlaRUN: Dalagan para sa Kagabsan 2023.” Spearheaded by the visionary leadership of President Job Llaguno and President Ruth Dy-Ng, this remarkable run served as the electrifying kickoff activity for the highly anticipated JCI Week celebration, themed “Brighter Mission, Lead with Passion.” With the resounding support and participation of 500 runners from Naga City and Camarines Sur, KaunlaRUN not only made history as the region’s first-ever advocacy run but also symbolized the unwavering dedication of its people to effect positive change.
The sun-drenched streets of Naga City came alive as passionate individuals laced up their running shoes, ready to make a profound impact. Beyond just a fun run, KaunlaRUN became a dynamic platform for the diverse advocacies held dear by Nagueños and Nagueñas. Runners were inspired to champion causes that resonated with their hearts, with many advocacies making their voices heard.
Embracing the vision of a fair and equal society, participants sprinted forward for Gender Equality, determined to break down barriers and create a more inclusive community. The urgent need for Clean Water and Sanitation was highlighted as runners weaved through the city, reminding everyone of the fundamental right to access this essential resource. Energies were harnessed for Affordable and Clean Energy, as the crowd emphasized the importance of sustainable solutions for a brighter future.

As the run progressed, the collective strides passionately advocated for Reduced Inequalities, reinforcing the belief that no one should be left behind in our pursuit of progress. Climate Action took center stage, with every footfall as a reminder of our responsibility to safeguard the environment for future generations. The resolute purpose of Quality Education echoed through the city’s streets, emphasizing the transformative power of knowledge and its role in shaping a better tomorrow.
Furthermore, Women’s Rights, Peace, and Justice were held high as banners of change, demanding a society where every voice is heard and respected. These advocacies, among many others, wove together a tapestry of hope and inspiration, driving the runners forward and igniting the flames of social transformation.
Beyond the physical exertion, KaunlaRUN sought to raise awareness by facilitating meaningful dialogue and fostering engagement.
