The Naga City government has commended Grade 8 pupil Wystan S. Villareal of the Philippine Science High School (Bicol Region campus) and Willary A. Abriol, a Grade 3 pupil from the Blessed Lights International Christian Academy (BLICA) for winning bronze in the 2021 online Challenge for Future Mathematicians (CFM) and the 10th International Mathematicians and Assessment for Schools (IMAS), respectively.
The pupils, who are both members of the Philippine Team, were conferred with Sangguniang Panlungsod resolutions congratulating and commending them for their feats that give honors not only for themselves, their families, and their schools but for the country as well.
BLICA’s Abriol vied in IMAS on Dec. 11, 2020 while Villareal competed in the online edition of the CFM held last Apr. 14, this year, which was participated in by teams from Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
The SP resolutions were handed by Mayor Nelson Legacion along with the members of the city council to the pupils who were accompanied by their respective families after the flag raising ceremony on Monday, June 14.
