Police operatives net 4 suspects, P3.5-M shabu

THE Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) have arrested four suspects and seized over P3.4 million worth of shabu in two days of anti-drug operations in Naga City.


Lt. Col. Maria Luisa Calubaquib, PRO-5 spokesperson, on Tuesday said the joint operation of the government anti-narcotic group led to the confiscation of 513 accumulated grams of shabu with a total street value of P3.488 million.


Based on a report on Monday, two suspected pushers were arrested while trading illegal drugs in Sitio Magayagaya, Doña Clara Village, Concepcion Pequeña, here. The suspects were identified as Nerissa Belga, 40, and Gian Carlo Bansagales, 26.


“Confiscated from them were 10 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets, and six heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing more or less 455 grams of shabu with an estimated value of P3,094,000,” Calubaquib said in a statement.


On Tuesday morning, two other drug dealers were arrested along C5 Road in Barangay Mabolo, Naga City.


They were identified as Arvie Bautista, 25, and John Eric Del Rosario, 22, both room boys and residents Zone 4, Sitio Bangad, Baliuag, Minalabac town in Camarines Sur.


“Taken from the suspects were more or less 58 grams with an estimated value of P394,400,” Calubaquib said.


Brig. Gen. Rudolph Dimas, PRO-5 director, said the successful operations confirm the steady commitment of the Philippine National Police in Bicol to wipe out all forms of illegal drugs.


“We remain firm in doing our shared responsibility driven with hope to eliminate drug threat, and bring under the fold of the law those persons behind its conveyance inside Bicol Region,” he said. (PNA)
