Police recover P1.9M shabu in drug ops

Police authorities in Camarines Sur province, including in Naga City recovered P1,988,500 worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) in anti-illegal drugs stings recently.
On Oct. 21 in Tinambac town, a buy-bust operation was conducted at Barangay Salvacion Poblacion where the suspect Hercy Maldea, 27, of Zone 3 of the same village was arrested for possession of five small heat sealed plastic sachet containing suspected shabu worth P5,000. The suspect, who was the target in the operation was a drug surrenderee under Oplan Tokhang.
On Oct. 23 at around 2:20 PM at a residential area of Zone 5, San Roque in Camaligan town, police nabbed Gil San Buenaventura, 52 and Armando Del Rosario, 51 of the said village, during a similar anti-drug operation.
A police poseur buyer was able to purchase from the suspects P500 worth of shabu. Hours later, in Nabua, Camarines Sur, Sharon Barela, 41 of Barangay Aro-Aldao was collared in the same operation conducted by the municipal police, after selling a small plastic sachet of shabu to a police poseur buyer at around 7:30 PM in Zone 6, Barangay Inapatan.
On Monday, Oct. 25 at 2:50 AM at Zone 5, Barangay Peñafrancia, Naga City, a buy-bust operation was launched against Jonathan Fabi, 32, of Barangay Calauag and Herbert Endaya, 32, of Penafrancia village. The two were apprehended for possession of four packs of shabu worth P1,700,000. Ten hours later, Rey Bigueja, 36, of Zone 3, Barangay Pawili, Pili, Camarines Sur, was also arrested for selling P500 worth of shabu. The police also recovered from the suspect a revolver and two live ammunitions.
In a search warrant operation that same day at around 10:00 PM, incumbent barangay captain Chiz Navea, 52, of Barangay Dahat, Lagonoy town was arrested after police operatives recovered from him five plastic sachets of shabu worth P170,000. Navea was listed third in municipal drug watchlist.
On the next day at 1:00 AM in Barangay Palestina, Pili, Camarines Sur, a buy-bust operation resulted in armed confrontation after Alvin Baldoza, 36, of Agos in Bato town drew his caliber 45 pistol and shot the police operatives three times. In retaliation, the police officers killed the suspect with two gunshots in the body. Three plastic sachet of shabu worth P6.8 million was recovered from him.
All arrested suspects are now detained while facing criminal cases for violating the RA. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
