10 cops wanted for murder surrender to Legazpi PNP

Ten police officers facing two murder complaints in the killing of a woman and the bodyguard of former Biliran representative and lawyer Glenn Chong in Cainta, Rizal on Dec.10, 2018, surrendered to the Legazpi City Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday, Feb. 21, a police report said.


Those who surrendered are Police Staff Sergeants Julius Villadarez Quezon and Richard Raagas, Corporal Arthur Gerard Ignacio, Patrolmen Napoleon Relox, Jordan Antonio, Marvin Santos, and Terry Anthony, are all members of the PNP Rizal.


Police Corporals Merwin Macam and Diogenes Barrameda Jr., and Patrolman Efren Areola, all members of the Highway Patrol Group of the Police Regional Office 4A went on hiding for the past three years after they were reportedly involved in the ambush slay of Richard Red Santillan, a bodyguard of Chong and his female companion Gessamyn “Minmin” Casing on board the formers car along the road in Cainta town, according to Police Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson.


Calubaquib said the suspects were among the 20 people that were included in the warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 99 in Antipolo City for the charges of murder.


The suspects who sought refuge in this city, have decided to surrender and give their testimonies about the case to the city police station around 10:30 AM on Feb. 21.


Calubaquib said the suspects are in the custody of the Legazpi City police station and they will be turned over to the PNP Calarbazon.
