LEGAZPI CITY --- Two high-ranking police officials on Monday assumed posts as the new Philippine National Police provincial directors for Albay and Camarines Norte.
Col. Fernando Cunanan Jr. took the helm as the new chief of the Albay Provincial Police Office, while Col. Antonio Bilon Jr. was named head of the Camarines Norte Provincial Police Office.
Cunanan, who hails from Pampanga, was a former chief of the Regional Maritime Unit 3, while Bilon is from Occidental Mindoro and formerly assigned at the Directorate for Intelligence.
Both officials belong to the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) Tanglaw-Lahi Class of 1999.
In a statement on Tuesday, Brig. Gen. Rudolph Dimas, Police Regional Office-Bicol (PRO5) regional director, said the movement and change of leadership in the two units is to provide opportunities for career advancement.
“It likewise intends to strengthen the respective offices by designating seasoned and experienced police officers that would further aid in the PRO5’s operational and administrative endeavor against criminalities, enforcement of the law, and maintenance of peace and order,” he said.
Dimas looks forward to working with both of the officials and to fulfilling the mission to serve and protect the people of the Bicol region and help make it a safer, more peaceful, and progressive place to live, work and do business for all.
“I also urge you to cultivate a strong and harmonious relationship with the men and women under your command because it is they who will help you in carrying out your plans and programs. Remember that no matter how lofty or promising our visions may be, they will never be realized without the hard work and dedication of the people we lead,” he said. (PNA)
