CCCom launches 4th Peñafrancia Short Film Festival
The 4th Peñafrancia Short Film Festival was formally launched today, March 23. A press conference and the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) at the Archbishop’s Residence in Naga City. The launch was headed by Caceres Archbishop Rolando J. Tria Tirona, OCD, DD and Naga City Mayor John Bongat. Present were representatives from the Department of Education – Region V, Bicol Association of Catholic Schools (BACS), Catholic Educational Association of Caceres and Libmanan (CEACAL), and the KBP. Themed “Bridging Communities through Christian Values and INA”, this year’s Film Festival brings to light the celebration of the Year of the Parishes - Communion of Communities. Participants will come from secondary students of private and public schools in the Bicol Region. The festival is also in partnership with the City Government of Naga, the Department of Education – Region V, BACS, CEACAL and the KBP. All entries, either in Filipino or Bikol, should not be less than 10 minutes and not more than 20 minutes. The script must focus on the theme, which centers on Christian values and a strong devotion to the Lady of Peñafrancia. In addition, entries must be able to feature the local culture, which inherently includes a deep sense of religiosity, among other things. The winner of the “Best Picture” award will receive PhP 50,000 and a trophy. Consolation prizes will also be given. Show original message
