Kaogma 2017 headlines JaDine, other stars for #HappinessOverload

This is the general atmosphere at the seat of the provincial government as it preps up for the weeklong celebration every May that is Kaogma Festival 2017 tagged as “the hottest festival in the world!” Featuring the popular tandem and harbinger of “kilig,” James Reid and Nadine Lustre, aptly nicknamed by loyal fans and supporters as JaDine, this #TeamReal along with other performers the likes of fellow Viva talents Bret Jackson, Ronnie Liang, OJD Master Chad Kinis, and Pop Girls, G-Force, Nikki Minaj Kalokalike and many more will open the said festivities with a big bang on Saturday evening, May 20, 2017 at the Freedom Sports Stadium, San Jose, Pili, Camarines Sur. Earlier in the afternoon of the same date, a colorful Cultural Street Dance Competition will prelude the opening show with 11 contingents representing 10 municipalities – Buhi, Nabua, Bula, Milaor, Goa, Bombon, Balatan, Minalabac, Bato, and 2 from the Capital town of Pili, all in Camarines Sur. Gov. Migz Villafuerte, fresh from a victory motorcade for his own lady love, Ms. Rachel O. Peters, Bb. Pilipinas Universe 2017, also a Bicolana whose mother hails from Canaman, Camarines Sur, is putting out all the stops to ensure that this year’s Kaogma Festival lives up to its theme #HappinessOverload! With JaDine headlining the Opening Salvo, the rest of the week level up its line-up of events with a “tiangge” Hot Buys Hot Food for the shopaholics and foodies alike, an Arts Fest for the arts and culture fans, and the launching of a grassroots kind of triathlon, Boy Kayod 2017, all happening on Sunday, May 21, 2017. Kaogma is for everyone – young and old alike - thus, a Senior Citizens Talent Show is set on Monday, May 22, 2017 with no less than premiere singer/song writer Rey Valera as special celebrity guest. On May 23, 2017, a song fest – The Big V – for kids and adults will be staged with guest performances from Ryzza Mae Dizon of Eat Bulaga fame, Tony Labrusca, a finalist of Pinoy Boy Band PH, and our very own CamSur’s pride, Froilan Canlas, the third big placer of It’s Showtime’s Tawag Ng Tanghalan. May 24, 2017 is Boxing Day as a whole line-up of professional boxers from Camarines Sur will showcase their “oragon” moves versus boxers from our ASEAN neighbor nation, Indonesia. This series of ring bouts will certainly titillate the “killer instincts” of the rowdy male spectators and boxing fanatics. By Thursday, May 25, 2017, the adrenaline rush continues with the staging of the Practical Shooting Competition for gun aficionados and in the evening, the Miss Kaogma 2017 beauty pageant wherein cutie heartthrob Iñigo Pascual will make hearts a-flutter and where current title holder, Ms. Kisses Delavin of PBB fame will turnover her crown. On Friday, May 26, 2017, the annual dance crew competition, Dance Revolution, will happen with the Philippine All Stars as special guest performers while consecutively at the CWC, Happy Ending Bar opening will feature SKRATCHMARK, Abdel Aziz and a CWC Pool Party will also commence featuring DJ Euric, Mother DFISSS, and KatskLee. On May 27, 2017, Saturday, is the actual Foundation Day of the province as it celebrates 438th Foundation Anniversary with an annual Foundation Mass. Historically established as Ciudad de Nueva Caceres on May 27, 1579 upon orders by Spanish Gobernador General Francisco de Sande, Camarines Sur as Bicol’s premiere province had gone through a long and colorful journey to its current state now: 35 towns, 2 cities and the current economic hub of Bicolandia. Likewise, a Farmers Day will also commence in homage to the hardworking farmers who are the food backbone of the province which is primarily still an agricultural economy. In the evening of the same day, former hunk actor and still an eye candy Carlos Agassi will grace the CWC Bikini Summit 2017 while CWC Zeach Bar will host a Sunset Party featuring CMart and Toons. On the same day but at a different venue – Freedom Sports Stadium – the CamSur Rock Fest will commence which will feature Slapshock, Up Dharma Down, Giniling Festival, Grace Note, and Yolanda Moon. By the last day of the festival, May 28, 2017, the 11th CWC Wakeboarding Nationals Competition will kick off at CWC and a Grand Zumba Kontra Droga with PBB Alumnus and dance celebrity Saicy Aguila as guest Zumba instructor. Also, the adrenaline-pumping MotoCross and 4x4 Challenge will happen on the same day. The launch of Oplan Sinagtala, a Peace and Order Program of the Camarines Sur PNP in cooperation with the provincial government will likewise proceed on the last day of Kaogma Festival. From the roster of stars to the schedule of events, #Kaogma2017 is fast shaping and living up to its tag as, indeed, “the hottest festival in the world!” Camarines Sur’s Gov.
