2 men survive ambush in CamNorte


By Juan Escandor Jr. NAGA CITY---Two persons were ambushed but survived with non-fatal gunshot wounds they sustained in Jose Panganiban town in Camarines Norte on on June 12, police reported. Senior Insp. Diana De Vera, staff on duty at the Camarines Norte Police Provincial Office, identified the shooting victims as Sonny N. Pasinos, 43, and Jose A. Gutierez, 51, all residents of Barangay Batobalani in Paracale town. De Vera said Pasinos, who was driving a motorcycle, and Gutierez, the back rider, were ambushed by six unidentified assailants while on their way home from a friend’s house. She said when the two reached the dark side of the road they were fired upon. De Vera said Pasinos sustained gunshot wounds in both arms, on his right and left legs while Gutierez was hit by bullets in both legs. Not fatally wounded, they managed to escape and drive back home where their relatives brought them to Camarines Norte Provincial Hospital for medical treatment, the police officer said. De Vera said the police recovered from the crime scene six pieces of spent cartridge cases, two live bullets, slug and deformed metal jacket. She said the motive of the incident remains unknown until the assailants of Pasinos and Gutierez are identified.
