Good Morning Judge: K of C’s golden anniversary
THE Knights of Columbus Bishop Jorge Barlin Assembly ACN 1591 celebrated its 50th Golden Anniversary last Sunday, June 11, with a motorcade in the morning and a program and fellowship after a fraternal mass and breakfast. Celebrating a Golden Anniversary is not a trivial matter, hence, I am writing about the Bishop Jorge Barlin Assembly ACN 1591 as a regular column instead of treating the same as part of my trivia column. Rightfully, the theme of the golden celebration is: “BJBA, FOR FIVE DECADES, PATRIOTIC AND GOD LOVING.” Indeed, while basically the Assembly is a religious organization, one of its basic objectives and purposes is the “promotion of educational, charitable, social welfare, war relief and welfare, and public welfare work.” Thus, along this line, it has involved in socio-civic activities such as the distribution of used clothing among the poor and destitute residents of sitio Spokoy in Sabang, Naga City and the feeding program at Calauag, Naga City through the help of the Sisters of Charity at Villa Marilac where most of the barangay residents partook of the hot goto. These were but among the socio-civic involvement of the Assembly during the past years of its 50 years of existence as a socio-civic and religious organization. The Constitution and By-laws of the Assembly was passed and approved by the Vote of the Assembly on June 9, 1991 or thirty-six years ago. The Assembly was incorporated with the issuance of the Certificate of Incorporation by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on October 20, 2013 or four years ago. Congratulations therefore, to all members of the BJBA on the occasion of its Golden Anniversary. TRIVIA The USI Class 55 is scheduled to have its regular meeting and luncheon fellowship this coming Friday, June 16, at the Centro Square along Penafrancia Avenue, Naga City. Through this column, all members are reminded to attend.
