New evangelization confab to highlight ‘heart encounters’
Because conversion begins in the heart, the 4th Philippine Conference on the New Evangelization (PCNE 4) will focus on “Heart Encounters” as well as on “Making Room” and “Embracing Mission” from July 28 to 30, 2017 at the Quadricentennial Pavilion of the University of Santo Tomas. Inspired by the Year of the Parish as communion of communities, as well as by the call to be “bearers of the memory of Jesus and proclaimers of the Gospel,” the yearly event will feature a “heart to heart” session with Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle. The first day will highlight inspirational stories of healing as well as conversion that will aim to inspire the faithful to open their hearts to Jesus. Day two will be the phase for “Making Room,” which will deal with specific challenges the Church faces today. President of the Vatican’s Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New evangelization, Archbishop Rino Fisichella, will lead reflections for the second day. The last day will focus on modern missionaries’ and how they are “Embracing Mission.” Archbishop Bernardito C. Auza, Permanent Observer of the Holy See to the United Nations, will share his reflections on the third day. Ira Taylo/CBCPNews
