“Don’t Give Up!” - Jehovah’s witnesses’ 2017 Convention

NAGA CITY --- Jehovah’s Witnesses are inviting the public to attend their 2017 Convention at the University of Nueva Caceres Sports Palace, Naga City. The theme for this is “Don’t Give Up”. Beginning on Friday to Sunday, July 28 to 30, the witnesses will be hosting this free event here in Bicol Region, with different dates within this month of July in the City of Legaspi, Albay, Virac, Catanduanes, Daet, Camarines Norte and Masbate. The three day program will be divided into 52 parts and will be presented in a variety of formats, including brief discourses, interviews and short videos. Additionally, one segment of a three-part feature film entitled Remember the Wife of Lot will be shown each afternoon. As they have in the past years, the witnesses will distribute a special invitation into the public welcoming them to attend the program. Other locations worldwide and dates for the convention can be found on their website jw.org. Challenges in life can rob us of peace and even cause some to think about giving up, this year’s convention will benefit both Witnesses and non-Witnesses because it promises to empower individuals not only to keep enduring but also to cope with challenges productively. Jehovah’s Witnesses are members of a worldwide Christian religion who actively share with others, information about God, whose name is Jehovah, and about his Son Jesus Christ. They view first century Christianity as their model. They believe that in addition to drawing one closer to God, living by Bible principles gives purpose to life, promotes strong family ties, and develops productive and honest citizens. Jehovah’s Witnesses are found at all levels of society; they do not physically separate themselves from those who do not share their beliefs. They live, work and go to school with people of different religious beliefs. At the same time, Jehovah’s Witnesses follow Jesus example of being “no part of the world” by avoiding unchristian prejudices and controversies that divide mankind today. –John 17:15-16
