Robbery hold up gang member killed in shootout
By Jorge Hallare LEGAZPI CITY --- A member of suspected robbery- hold up gang operating in Camarines Sur was killed in a shootout with policemen in drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Bahay, Libmanan town in Camarines Sur, a report reaching the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Bicol said Monday. Police investigators identified the victim as Henry Osing, a native of Barangay Mambulo Nuevo, Libmanan town and reportedly a municipal employee assigned as security aide of Vice Mayor Rommel Bulaong, according to PNP Bicol spokesperson Sr. Ins. Maria Luisa Calubaquib. Calubaquib, quoting police investigation report, said that Osing was also a member of the notorious Paluyon-Paliza robbery-hold up gang and his name was included in the police illegal drug watch list as a High Value Target (HVT). The report said that the police buy-bust operation occurred at around 4:30 p.m. Friday. The suspect, armed with a .38 caliber pistol, drew his handgun at the policemen posing as buyers prompting the latter to open fire at the suspect. The suspect was rushed to the Libmanan District Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. Police recovered 18 plastic sachets containing alleged “shabu” from the suspect’s possession.
