914 newly promoted Bicol cops take oath

By Connie Destura LEGAZPI CITY-- A total of 914 newly-promoted police personnel in the Bicol region took their oath at the Police Regional Office 5 parade grounds here. Chief Supt. Antonio N. Gardiola Jr, Regional Director of the Police Regional Office 5 (PRO5), administered the oath-taking and mass pinning of the newly promoted 914 Bicol police, witnessed by their families and relatives. Gardiola, in his message, said that a promotion is more than just a reward; it is a noble gesture. “It is a sign of the readiness to take on greater responsibilities and a willingness to do more for the organization and for the nation. In stepping up the ladder we take it upon ourselves to steer the organization to better, loftier heights and to achieve excellence in the field of service. It is a true measure of our dedication and a testament to our concern to our country and our people,” Gardiola added. Gardiola reminded the newly-promoted police personnel to perform their duties and responsibilities well and beyond the public’s expectation. “Let us bear in mind that the standard, more than anything, is not how we view ourselves, but what the people of the community, our TRUE bosses, see in our actions. Let us, prove to them that the Philippine National Police is manned by determined and dedicated individuals, who continue to grow and improve themselves as individuals and as an organization, to become competent and capable at what they were mandated to do – that is, to serve and protect.,” Gardiola said.
