By Juan Escandor Jr. NAGA CITY---A suspected drug pusher was shot dead early morning Monday (Sept. 25) after the police said he resisted arrest and drew a gun when he was about to be arrested in Barangay Lerma in this city. Senior Police Officer 2 Tobias Bongon, spokesperson of the Naga City Police Office (NCPO),said a certain Michael, aka Bolbol, with no known surname was entrapped in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit and NCPO unit at 2:20 a.m. Monday. Bongon said the buy-bust operation was conducted in front of a house in Zone 1 of Barangay Lerma where the suspected pusher temporarily lived. He said when the transaction to buy shabu (crystal meth) was consummated, Michael sensed he was selling to authorities that he ran inside the house and into the room where he was staying. Bongon said the police chased Michael inside the house but the latter grappled with the police then drew a .38 caliber pistol. But the police was able to shoot him first before he could do harm against the arresting authorities. He said Michael has no known permanent residence in Naga City but had been around in different barangays in this city before staying in the house of certain Virginia Canet in Barangay Lerma. The remains of Michael were brought to the funeral parlor for his relatives to identify and claim his body.
