Election of new board members will also follow to replace the 7 outgoing directors whose terms in the 15-man board will expire this year. The newly elected board directors will also have the chance to join the incumbent board when the MNCCI sends its delegation to the 43rd Philippine Business Conference that will be held at the Manila Hotel on October 18-19 this year. This year’s theme is “One. Global. Filipino: GIANT STEPS: Taking the Leap Forward.” The 43rd Philippine Business Conference and Exposition traditionally convenes local, national and global leaders from business and government to look into synergies and strategies needed to create a more competitive business and investment environment leading to the envisioned economic transformation by 2022. It will also explore how the country can take GIANT STEPS to LEAP forward. Accordingly, GIANT STEPS spells out programs on the build-up of soft and hard infrastructure: reducing the cost of doing business; enhancing innovation; and, strengthening by economic sectors such as tourism, agriculture and manufacturing. In 2017, PCCI embraced LEAP to ensure that GIANT STEPS moves forward. LEAP stands for Leadership, Enterprise, Action and Performance. Likewise, this year’s EXPO will be the instrument in attracting investments and expanding market opportunities by showcasing the best of what the PCCI has in all regions of the Philippines. The conference will be participated in by the officers and members of the local chambers of commerce and industry who are members of the PCCI, and businessmen/entrepreneurs from small, medium and large companies both local, national and international. Last year, the PBC&E was conducted at the Marriot Hotel in Pasay City where during the Chamber Management Conference, the MNCCI’s best practices were presented before fellow chamber members and officers from various parts of the country.
