DepEd Bicol to secure ISO certification

By Connie Destura LEGAZPI CITY — The Department of Education (DepEd) regional office for Bicol is eyeing for International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 certification to respond to changing quality requirements of the workplace to balance with society, economics and environment and align with the International Standard on quality management system. DepED Regional Director Ramon Fiel Abcede said DepEd Bicol is currently working to secure the latest ISO 9001:2015 mark as part of their commitment towards continuous improvement. “Since May of this year, we have conducted several trainings to understand and observe the procedure of the latest version of the ISO in terms of dealing with the client and polishing work procedures, to maintain an organized flow of transaction in every office. After the training, all the divisions of the regional office will undergo external auditing in all its processes to check whether it already complied with the requirements”, the regional director said. The ISO 9001:2015 is the latest version of work standards released by ISO related to quality management, applicable to any organizations. Abcede asked full the people’s support believing that an ISO certificaion will lead the office to achieve its goal and objectives through effective and efficient processes for its clients. DepEd Bicol aims to secure the ISO mark before the end of this year.
