MNWD’s water lorry, rescue boat set to be launched

NAGA CITY --- The much awaited launching of the Metropolitan Naga Water District’s (MNWD) Water Lorry and Rescue Boat is set on October 30, 2017 at 3:00 in the afternoon at the Camaligan River Park in Barangay Santo Domingo, Camaligan, Camarines Sur. This project’s aim is to service far-flung barangays within the coverage area that are not reached by the water district’s pipelines due to their remote location. The Water Lorry and Rescue Boat’s main purpose is to deliver potable water to riverside barangay residents of Camaligan, Canaman, Gainza, Magarao, and even Pamplona, all in Camarines Sur. Aside from this, the boat will also deliver potable water to riverside communities during times of disaster and will assist in rescue operations as well. The operation of the Water Lorry and Rescue Boat will be jointly shared by the MNWD and the Mariners’ Polytechnic Colleges Foundation Inc., as stipulated in the memorandum of agreement between the two institutions. Thus, MPCFI will be manning the boat in its daily rounds of water delivery.
