Nurses, plumbers sked national confab in Naga

NAGA CITY --- It least two big events have been calendared to unfold in this city in the last two months of the year, with guests and participants coming from other parts of the country. To take place on November 28-30 at Villa Caceres Hotel here will be the 10th National Nursing Research Conference with the theme, “Advancing Quality in Research and Nursing Towards Healthy and Sustainable Communities.” On December 8-9, on the other hand, will be the 10th Luzon Regional Conference and Trade Exhibits of the Philippine Society of Plumbing Engineers (PSPE), Inc., also to be held at Villa Caceres Hotel with the theme, “Plumbing Engineers: Moving Towards ASEAN Professional Integration.” Dean Delia B. Oco, Ph.D., of the Ateneo de Naga University College of Nursing said the Nursing Conference is being spearheaded by the Philippine Nursing Research Society (PNRSI). It is to be participated in by nurse leaders, educators, researchers, practitioners, students, and other professional nurses from the region and various parts of the country who are aiming to advance nursing theory and practice by keeping pace with the new developments and information through scholarly exchange of evidence-based nursing knowledge. She added that distinguished international, national, and local experts will facilitate various discussions during the plenary sessions. Engr. Joselito Ortocio, PSPE President (Sorsogon Chapter) and conference chairman of the plumbers conference, said that registered master plumbers, practitioners, plumbing assessors, designers, consultants, building officials, as well as senior architectural and engineering students from key cities in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will be coming for the much anticipated national annual gathering of plumbing engineers. The grand affair will also showcase exhibits and product presentations of state-of-the-art plumbing tools, equipment, materials and services. Experts and well respected resource speakers from the industry are expected to impart their vast technical knowledge to further enrich the theoretical and practical plumbing skills of the delegates, Engr. Orticio added. In both events, Naga City Mayor John G. Bongat have been invited to give the welcome remarks and as keynote speaker.
