AdeNU welcomes new president

THE Ateneo de Naga University community welcomes its fourth University President Fr Roberto Exequiel N. Rivera, SJ who is set to arrive on December 14, 2017. Fr. Rivera got his undergraduate degree, BS Legal Management, at the Ateneo de Manila University in 1988 and entered the Society of Jesus during the same year. He was ordained Priest in 2000. Fr Rivera has two MAs (Sociology and Theology, both received in ADMU) and a PhD in Sociology which he earned at University of Notre Dame (Indiana, USA). In 2014, he was the Founding Rector and Professor of Mathematics at St. John de Brito College in Dili, Timor-Leste. In 2017, he was appointed as Director of SEARSOLIN. Fr Rivera is also a faculty member of Xavier University at Cagayan de Oro. Fr. Primitivo Viray Jr, SJ — ADNU’s third University President — was recently appointed as the new Father Provincial of the Society of Jesus in the Philippines (replacing Fr. Antonio Moreno, SJ who was appointed as the new Director of the Jesuit Conference: Asia-Pacific Region). The official installation of the new ADNU President will be held early next year.
