Good Morning Judge: PCSO’s mandate

WE have read from recent newspaper and television reports that the Philippines Charity Sweepstakes Office has indulged in lavish parties and dole outs for its officials and employees. This has been allegedly justified by its management officials as deserving as it is done only once a year and the agency has the wherewithal to spend. If true, this is indeed, unfortunate as the PCSO by virtue of its Charter is mandated to channel its resources to cater to charitable purposes such as institutions and/or individuals needing assistance for medical care. Hopefully, the PCSO would re-direct its attention to the purpose for which it has been organized. The Real Estate Brokers Association of the Philippines, Naga City and Camarines Sur Chapter has recently held its 2018 Chapter Induction Ceremony and 1st Chapter General Membership Meeting last January 20 at the Haciendas de Naga at Uptown Carolina. Mayor John G. Bongat who installed the 2018 Officers emphasized in his speech that the REBAP has been an indispensable partner of his administration and the City of Naga itself in the socio-economic development of the city and in generating employment. He said that thru the REBAP, the landscape of the city has gained invariable development. He thus encouraged the REBAP and its officers and members to continue in these efforts as he promised that his administration will continue to support the REBAP.
